Dale and Linda met while working together in the same jewelry store in 1977 after Linda retired from a career as a professional ballet dancer. They married in 1978 and they've been a team ever since. They moved to North County San Diego in 1985 to raise their children and pursue their dream of owning their own store.

Dale is a GIA Graduate Gemologist with over 40 years experience in the jewelry industry. He got his start in the jewelry business as a high school student in 1965, working part-time in a family owned store in Chicago. He attended the Gemological Institute of America in 1972 and continued his career in California.

Dale and Linda operate Gems of La Costa with a simple philosophy. Our goal is to do business on a "win-win" basis. We want you to feel good about your experience in our store. If circumstances require some flexibility, we are happy to discuss the options to meet your needs. We hope you will be able to visit our store and allow us to introduce ourselves and our jewelry to you. We look forward to meeting you.

Linda's Ballet Career

We've had many requests for more information about Linda's ballet career. Here is a bit of that story and some pictures. After years of training while growing up, Linda began dancing professionally at the age of 16. She was a butterfly that came out of the caterpillar in the parade at Disneyland. She went on to dance with San Francisco ballet and then was invited to joining American Ballet Theater's Repertory Company. She finished her 10 year career, dancing with Hartford Ballet.

Charity Charges

Gems of LaCosta provides a number of small services to raise money for local charities. When certain minor repairs take a few minutes of our time or a small part that we can spare, we accept a voluntary “Charity Charge” donation as payment for the service. The funds go to local non-profit organizations to help them with the work that they do.
